Job Posting - Program Coordinator

Duration: Full time position for 30 weeks beginning October 20, 2015

Location: 161 St. Peters Road

Employer: PEI Literacy Alliance

Wages: $18/hour (includes vacation pay) for 37.5hrs/week 

Qualifications:

Management Experience

  • 2-4 years experience in program coordination
  • experience facilitating groups or teaching experience
  • excellent networking and relationship-building skills
  • experience engaging and including diverse groups
  • demonstrated experience managing volunteers
  • demonstrated problem-solving skills
  • experience with event coordination

Communication Skills

  • excellent verbal and written communications
  • excellent interpersonal skills
  • demonstrated research skills
  • experience with public relations
  • experience with public education and social marketing/media

Assets:

  • ability to speak/read/write French
  • experience working with marginalized or under-represented groups
  • experience working with not-for-profit organizations
  • experience with pilot projects/programs
  • experience with program evaluation and reporting
  • strong computer skills, particularly relating to developing and publishing print and Web-based materials
  • access to a vehicle and a valid driver’s license

Program Coordinator Job Description 

  • Coordinate all aspects of PEI Literacy Alliance programs and related events
  • Manage budgets for programs
  • Organize and facilitate orientation and training for volunteers and program staff
  • Organize and facilitate advisory council and committee meetings
  • Communicate with program partners and funders
  • Provide support to volunteers and program staff
  • Develop program evaluations in consultation with other Alliance staff
  • Collect and analyse evaluations in consultation with other Alliance staff
  • Share in website and social media management
  • Share in office support
  • Record-keeping
  • Prepare program reports
  • Contribute to Alliance publications as needed
  • Report to supervisor regularly
  • Other duties as required
