More about this program:

This program provides literacy supports that mitigate summer learning loss and keep students engaged in learning year round.

The program aims to cultivate a love of learning in young students by developing their literacy and numeracy skills, and building self-confidence. Our goal is to give children on PEI, with a special focus on integrating newcomer children, the supports they need to reach their full academic potential.

The program will now provide free tutoring to over 700 children in grades K-6 in public libraries across PEI during the summer months and free PD Day Camps to children in Charlottetown for the 2017/2018 school year on a pilot basis. Our goal is to expand the camp days to other communities in the future.

Students must be referred by a resource teacher. We work with resource teachers to identify children who would benefit most from the program. We do not accept referrals from parents.
